Welcome to "Get Outside Together", a unique initiative that combines a therapeutic and connecting experience with the healing power of nature and the outdoors.
Our founder, Zak Hazlett, was born and raised amidst the inspiring landscapes of the Colorado River and the red rock of Moab. Zak's connection with nature was born from his early years of growing up in this breathtaking environment. His passion for the outdoors only grew as he spent almost every summer as a river guide, navigating the powerful currents of the Colorado River and witnessing first-hand the transformative impact of nature on individuals and families.
However, Zak's journey didn't stop at the riverbanks. He went on to graduate school to train as a marriage and family therapist and fulfill his long-time dream of combining his experiences as a river guide with the serenity of the outdoors and the healing power of therapy. And thus, "Get Outside Together" was born.
At "Get Outside Together", we believe in the power of shared experiences and emotions as a powerful healing agent. Whether it's the thrill of the whitewater rapids, a challenging hiking trail, the peace found in a calm evening around a campfire, or the joy of reaching a mountain peak together, these shared experiences foster connections and help us understand each other on a deeper level. It's the emotions we share in these moments that truly bring us closer together.
We invite you to join us on this journey of exploration and healing. It’s time to get outside together, reconnect with nature and to find the healing we all seek.

Inspiring people to get outside and let nature do the work.
Get Outside Together's team is looking forward to adventuring with you!
Zak Hazlett was born and raised in the picturesque town of Moab, Utah, where he developed a deep love for the outdoors and an appreciation for the power of human connection. Growing up, Zak spent much of his time river rafting and guiding for with his family’s river rafting business—honing his skills as an expert of the river and developing a keen sense of adventure.
After completing his Masters Degree, Zak became a marriage and family therapist, using his skills to help people navigate the many challenges of life and build stronger, healthier relationships. But despite his success in his chosen profession, Zak never lost his passion for the outdoors and his desire to help others experience the same sense of joy and fulfillment that he found in nature.
With this in mind, Zak founded "Get Outside Together," an organization that helps people disconnect from the stress of daily life and reconnect with one another through a variety of outdoor activities. Whether it's river rafting, hiking, camping, rock climbing, or simply exploring the natural beauty of the world around us, Zak's mission is to use the power of nature to bring people together and create lasting memories and meaningful connections.
Today, Zak continues to inspire and empower people from all walks of life to embrace the great outdoors and all the wonder and adventure it has to offer. His passion for the natural world and his unwavering commitment to helping others make him a true force for good in the world, and a shining example of what can be achieved when we combine our love of people with our love of nature.
Chantel "Chan" Savage is a proud native of Cache Valley, Utah who has always had a deep appreciation for the natural beauty of her home state. With a love for the outdoors that runs deep, Chan spends much of her time exploring the mountains, rivers, and forests that surround her community. Her passion for adventure has led her to work in wilderness therapy and as a river guide, where she shares her knowledge and enthusiasm for the outdoors and it's healing power.
Chan's other passion is peace building and transformative conflict. She recognizes that empathy and effective communication are keys to building strong relationships and resolving conflicts, and she dedicates much of her free time to learning and teaching others how to communicate more effectively. Chan's interests go beyond just outdoor pursuits. She is also deeply committed to fostering kindness and charity in her community. Chan believes that small acts of kindness can have a big impact, and she works tirelessly to spread positivity and compassion wherever she goes.
When she's not working or volunteering, Chan can often be found exploring the great outdoors with her beloved pup, Bailey. Whether hiking, camping, or just enjoying the fresh air, Chan and Bailey are always up for an adventure.
Duke & Ziggy typically attend our sessions, they are our resident "tour guides". These puppers absolutely love going on these adventures.
Bailey is Chan's dog and absolutely loves going on these adventures with us! Bailey is always up for an adventure!
